Hi, everyone,

I am new to CFD and this forum. I am trying to use Fluent to simulate the vibration wall. It is a reciprocating movement.

At first, i use DEFINE_CG_MOTION macro to simulate the entie wall's reciprocating movement. and it works. But, later, when i use the DEFINE_PROFILE to define the wall's different vibration amplitude along the wall and use the DEFINE_CG_MOTION to simulate the wall's reciprocating movement. The UDF didnot work anymore.

so, i want to ask if there is some problems with my UDF or I used improper macros? if so, what should i do?

attachment is the UDF that i was write.

Hello!

Frankly speaking, I didn't use mesh motion. But it seems to me, that you are trying to move nodes of the same boundary to the different distances.

Could it be the problem?

Best regards

Thanks for you reply.
yes. i want to move nodes of the same wall to different distances.

Best Regards.

I mean, that it looks like it is impossible to move nodes of the same boundary on different distances.
If you have a wall with 3 nodes (for example) A-B-C -> you can't move A on +1; B on -1 and C on +0.1.

On the other hand you may translate A-B-C nodes to +1, or rotate them on the same angle.

However, this is my vision, may be I'm wrong. I think you should check it.

Best regards.
