hello,
i try to simulate a melting process. it alredy works in 2d. but now i want to simulate the same problem in 3D. For my first try i want to do this without gravity. My model: there is a sixth part of a pipe (inner wall = convection with free steam temperature above the pcm melting temp). the pipe is surounded with pcm (it looks like a pice of cake). ´ summarizing: one wall is heated. all other geometric walls are set by symmetry when i start my calculation it beginns to melt a the interface between the pipe and pcm. it happens in axial oriented lines (see the picture: pcm_melting_begin.jpg). at the point where the whole surface is molten (pcm_melting_end.jpg), there is no further increase of the melting process. So the melting front is not moving outside as it would be expected. i took all the setting from the 2d. please can anybody help me out!! this is for my master thesis. and it is now really urgent! thank you!! |
