I have a Fluent mesh, but the boundary conditions and material properties are a significant
and complicated component of the file format. I wrote the code that writes the data, but I
do not understand all of the rules that were needed to write the file. I gleaned what I could
from the ANSYS instructions .

The FBC (Fluent Boundary Conditions) command is available in both
the part phase (FBC and FBCI) and in the merge phase (FBC) to
associate a type of boundary condition and a zone
number to a facial region of the mesh.
Use the FLUEMATS command to define the cell type within a zone.
Use the MATE, MT, and MTI in the to specify the cell zone numbers.
Nodes can be assigned to a zone by including them into a node set
(see NSET). If the name of the set is a number, that number becomes
the zone number of the nodes in the set. If the node set has a
non-numeric name, then TrueGrid chooses a zone number for the nodes
in that set. If a node is in several node sets, it will show up in
the FLUENT output file as being in the node set that was defined last.
Care should be taken in assigning zone numbers (i.e. the zone numbers
in the FBC command, the material numbers, and the numeric name of
node sets) such that they are unique. For example, if there are
two different types of boundary conditions with the same zone number
or if there is a node set and a material with the same number, TrueGrid
will terminate the writing of the Fluent output with an error.

This only gives instructions on how to use TrueGrid to set the boundary conditions,
zones, and other properties if you know how to use Fluent. If you do not know how
to use Fluent, then it does not make much sense.

I am not a Fluent user just . I rely on the expert user to
instruct me on how to assign boundary conditions, materials, zones, and whatever
else is needed to run a problem.

Any suggestions?
Thank you very much
