Default how to choose carbon as a solid in fluent

Insitucombustion is on a distinguished road
I am working on smoldering combustion, In figure, gray area represents char and other section is passage for gas, can I represent char by solid carbon. how to add carbon as a solid material in fluent. (solid carbon comes under fluid materials in fluent) oxidation reactions are also to be modeled at char surface,

Can some one help?

which model and what type of reactions you are using?

species transport model and energy model.
it is oxidation reaction, the phenomenon is flame-less combustion
