Hey guys,

I have a wind tunnel with a flat plate having an injection hole (but close to leading edge of plate) and I am trying to simulate the mixing of two fluids (one flowing over the flat plate and the other one coming out of the injection hole).

I know the value of the turbulent intensity at the injection location - 20 %. Now, while performing simulations I notice that the turbulent intensity decreases along the length of the flat plate (Firstly, is it suppose to happen?). So, when I set the turbulent intensity at the inlet to be 20 %, it drops to around 12 % by the time it reaches the injection hole. So, I have to increase the turbulent intensity level at the inlet to above 30 % in order to bring the intensity near the hole 20 %. Is this method realistic and is it allowed?
