When trying to post-process any species concentration values (e.g. mole fraction of CO), I find that Fluent (2020 R1) seems to hang for quite a long time. It can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to report values at an outlet or draw a contour. Plotting other values like temperature and velocity do not have this issue. It seems this is especially true when using non-premixed combustion.
This isn't an issue with memory either, as this occurs both on a local machine and on an HPC cluster with more than enough memory. What might be causing this, and are there any known solutions or workarounds? Is it Fluent directly calculating derived values on-the-fly (and therefore is there a way to force Fluent to store these values rather than calculate on demand)? Thanks for any insight you can provide. |
