Hi all, I'm modeling a 2d case where what I want to get is the temperature along a wall. This wall is 700 mm large and is in contact with air. I meshed the zone near this wall with a small map cells because I wanted to use enhanced wall treatment. The speed of the air near this wall is around 5m/s. Once I have run the calulation I don't know how exactly to check wether the size of the cells were ok or not. I know that I have to use report options and check y plus but I don't know what to use; sum, y average, y maximum... and also where to check it (in the interior where are this cells? through a wall perpendicular to the zone where I want to get the temperatures distibution?) Do you think that an other viscosity model would fit better to my model?

I hope I've explain clearily my questions, please if not don't hesitate to ask me more about.

Thank you!!!!

now, more in detail:

yplus is calculated from fluent in the wall nearest cell. So to check, if the wall disctance of the first (!) cell is correct, use

1. The plot option. Therefore, goto plot, select report x-y values. The x-axis normaly is your wall, the y-axis function is turbulence: yplus.

2. For complex geometries use: display: contours, then select turbulence: yplus, and the surfaces are the walls, you want to check.

The values you should have for yplus depent on the wall modell and turbulence modell you are using. Check near wall treatment section in the fluent manual.
