hi i am dong heat transfer anaylsis of different metal in cylinder form for different metal and ot gas is filled in cylinder.question is that i meshed metal and gases in such away that the wall shadow show coupled in its option second when i meshed metal in complete volume not sonnecte to each other they behave ordinary wall can you tell me that my heat is not being transfered through gses and solid i am using natural convection and heat transfer through the sylinder

If you have wall and wall shadow, you need to make them coupled for heat transfer to take place. Basically if you define a wall/solid which has face on its both sides a wall shadow is created. Thisis a sovler requirement. i.e. wall and wall shadow exists on same location but face on either side. so you need to make them coupled.
