my model is: the hot-water pipe has small diameter (inner) , and the cold-water pipe has big diameter (outer). the heat tranfer from the hot-water through the steel pipe to the cold-water. boundary condition: (1)fliud1 (hot-water): velocity-inlet(0.1m/s) , outflow , T=640K (2)fliud2 (cold-water): velocity-inlet (0.1m/s), outflow , T=610K (3)solid : steel (4)wall (outside of cold-water pipe ): heat flux=0 because the Re<2300 , the problem is a liminar flow. the model seems no error i think. however, the reslut is dispointed me. the residual is always flat and very large;the cold water flow incorrect. i don't kown why it is , and i guess two reasons: (1) the model set has mistake or (2) fluent is not excellent to simulate this kind of problem which is the soild and fluid heat transfer couping

What residual?, energy residual? If you wan heat transfer occured in this model, you have to beware on the boundary wall between two difference material " Shell boundary" where the konduction or convetion constant need to be stated. You also have to turn on the energy solver.
