Hello everyone...I have got a problem with fluent. It doesnt a case or mesh file and shows some error(shown below). Can someone help me in finding the solution.
Error: FLUENT received fatal signal (ACCESS_VIOLATION) 1. Note exact events leading to error. 2. Save case/data under new name. 3. Exit program and restart to continue. 4. Report error to your distributor. |

this can literally be anything, when does it display this error?
its most likely some issue with your mesh or boundary conditions, please double check your mesh file is correct (do a grid check before anything else, fluent has a function for this). with any problem, start really really simple. make a dead easy mesh, and add a level of complication until an error pops up, then you know whats wrong, im afraid I cant give anything more than a vague reply unless u provide more details

Hello Ankour...Thanks for your reply. I have imported a simple 2D mesh from ICEM CFD(with output file for fluent V6) into fluent(File>Read>Mesh guess i'm not wrong here). Still it gives the same error with such a simple step. I'm using ANSYS Fluent(v12.0.16).

if the error happens right when u read the mesh...clearly there is something wrong with it. please do Grid->Check and see what comes up...but im afraid I dont use the mesh generator u do, so I cant help there. but since you are a beginner, I suggest following a user manual that has well validated mesh and boundary condition examples...follow it step by step, do a few examples first, to get to grips with it, before you do something new.
cant be more help than that, try and use forums *only* for very *specific* questions...if the error is something so general, clearly u need to learn a bit more on your own best of luck to you
