Hello to all,

I have a budget of 1500€ to buy a laptop.

I will do work related with computational fluid dynamics with OpenFOAM and some designing with solidWorks.

For the heavy duty work, I will have access to a computer cluster at my university.

I would like to know what computer do you guys recommend (in 2020) that will be a good €/performance ratio.

I am thinking on buying the Gigabyte Aorus 5 KB-7PT1130SD.

Its current price is 1300€
and comes with:
  • Processor: Intel® Core ™ i7-10750H Hexa-Core, 2.60 GHz with Turbo up to 5.00 GHz , 12 MB Cache
  • Ram: 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz DDR4
  • Display: 15.6 "Thin Bezel Full HD 144Hz IPS anti-glare LCD display
  • Graphics: Intel® UHD Graphics + NVIDIA® GeForce RTX ™ 2060 6GB GDDR6
  • Storage: 512GB PCIe Gen3x4 SSD, +1 M2 slot and 1 SSD/HDD slot

What do you think about the specs?
Do you know other models that have a better €/performance ratio?
