Dear All
I am planning to buy a new PC. I am currently writing my own NS Fortran code (3D & structured). I think at the most I would need about 500*200*50 grids, which would probably need about 1GB meomory. But the problem is that the simulation time is very large, so I would need as much speed as I can get. I would very much appreciate your help about these questions: 1. Does any one have experience with AMD cpus? Are they better than Intel or not? 2. What about CORSAIR 1600 (-Dominator) Ram? It's price is about $100 higher than CORSAIR 1333. Does it influence the efficiency of the PC or not? 3. Which one is better? "Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 - 3.0GHz " or "Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 - 2.83GHz" The first one has 6MB cache and the second 12MB. Do you think the Q9550 is worth the price? Thanks in advance |
