Hi, i was reading a paper where author has mentioned artiŽficial mesh Reynolds number. Can anyone please elaborate it? and why it's artificial? it true that system is inviscid tough.

The mesh Re number is based on the real viscosity of the fluid and on the mesh size. For inviscid fluid it is infinity. However, it exists the artificial viscosity introduced by some type of discretization. Therefore, you could ideally define a Re number based on such numerical viscosity even for inviscid flows. |
