partnerships with vendors

I have a tentative offer for so called "partnership" between Microsoft, a hardware vendor and Ansys. Naturally Ansys are pushing this position.
I am interested in the experience of others who have accepted this type of deal. What are the benefit(s) if any? Has being locked into a single software supplier lead to unacceptable price rises? Any other points are welcome. Regards Peter |
