Double Precision refers to a type of floating-point number that has more precision (that is, more digits to the right of the decimal point) than a single-precision number.

Double has 48 bit mantissa at pc based systems (because the mathematical co processor uses that format). It covers ~ 14 decimals.

Dude just google it or search on Wikipedia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double...g-point_format

Double precision in common usage refers to the usage of 64 binary bits to represent numbers in memory. More bits, means less digits get truncated and you get more accuracy.

Single precision uses 32 bits.
