Adding a new object to a mesh without deleting the old ones

Hi there,
I have a working code that uses the simpleFoam solver to calculate the drag on a group of objects in a uniform free stream. However, the mesh generation via snappyHexMesh is a bit slow. In particular, every time I want to add an object, I have to re-mesh all the other objects too - which takes quite a long time. Does any one know of a work-around to add a new object (via snappyHexMesh) without re-meshing previous objects? This would save me a lot of time - so I would really appreciate any ideas! I have tried the obvious approach of just re-running snappyHexMesh with a new object in the dictionary, but I get an error that complains about a restart with inconsistent cellLevel. Thanks. Graham |

1. why don't you ask your openfoam related question in the openfoam section?
2. snappyhexmesh is an algorithm, it takes the whole domain into account, so you will need to execute it with all the objects in your domain. |
