Hi All,

I hope you are enjoying your time.

I am preparing a 2D simulation in ANSYS Fluent to simulate the heat transfer inside an empty box. Around this empty box, there are two solid boxes and one box with vacuumed pressure to provide insulation for the empty box and prevent heat transfer with the surrounding; please see the attached picture for more explanation.

My question is, am I able to simulate this case in ANSYS Fluent? If yes, how can I prepare the vacuum region between solid bodies in ANSYS?

I hope the explanation is clear and you got the idea.

Thank you in Advance.

Mesh everything. Give the real properties to the fluid in the vacuum region (air?) and set the pressure equal to the vacuum pressure. You can use a pressure inlet or outlet, I recommend a pressure inlet.
