I need to use the strain rate in my custom solver so I calculated it by writing the following line in the code

const volScalarField strainrate = sqrt(2.0)*mag(symm(fvc::grad(U)));

and my solver compile it successfully

but when I run my simulation I got the following error

FOAM FATAL ERROR:
cannot be called for a calculatedFvPatchField
on patch inlet of field (1.41421*mag(symm(grad(U)))) in file "/home/rishk686/OpenFOAM/rishk686-10/run/pipeflow_2/berris_mypimple/0.005/(1.41421*mag(symm(grad(U))))"
You are probably trying to solve for a field with a default boundary condition.

FOAM aborting

I am unable to tackle this error.
