Hi everyone, what software are you using for gearbox/drive-train lubrication simulation?

I'm trying with Fluent and the meshing is a real pain.

I do not have any experience with that sort of simulations, but I know that meshless approaches are becoming more and more popular in those fields, especially due to the really hard meshing procedures (dealing with volumes collapse is an absolute pain indeed) and multiphase modeling involved. One possible way could be Particleworks, it implements the so-called Lagrangian MPS (Moving Particle Simulation) method. Have a look on their website

Thank you! Just had a look at their website and it looks quite dated/unreliable, I'm hearing more recently about Dive, have you heard about them?

Why do you say that? In my opinion their website looks good, it seems also that they organize seminars and other events.

In addition, I can also say that a big CAE tools reseller here in Italy deals with Particleworks; therefore, at least in terms of software reliability, you're safe.

I do not know Dive, but it seems a pretty handy tool! As I was mentioning before, I have no experience in that field, I'm not really able to judge.
