Hello researchers, can we use the PhaseChangeHeatFoam solver in the latest version of OpenFOAM? My colleague suggested that this solver only works in OpenFOAM 2.2.0. please help me.

It's not that it absolutely cannot or can never work. It needs to be be updated and compiled in the newer foam. If you try to run allwmake today, it will most certainly not compile because it is wayyy out of date.
phaseChangeHeeaattFoam is a custom solver built by (your friend?). It's not a standard, built-in solver provided by foam. So yes, your friend is right, it won't work in the new foam (until someone gets it working). In generall, most Foam 2.x.x will not compile in Foam 3+ and we are way beyond 3 nowadays. Having said all that, it's just a customized version of interfoam. You can just use the latest interfoam and rebuild all the bells and whistles. |
