hi every body . is far boundary condition treatment depends on which numerical scheme will be use ?

I heard that if the scheme is upwind scheme it is enough to use initial boundary condition ( free stream condition ) as far field boundary condition. for example when using two dimensional unsteady euler equation to solve steady one.

best regards CFD sutdent
