dear all

if i know the REx number , how to set the friction coefficient and boundary layer thickness, displament thickness, momentum thickness, and shape factor?

how to set the inflow condition of flat plate boundary layer? i have no the DNS data , can i do simulation of turbulent BL. thanks.

if i want to simulate a supersonic flat plate bound layer with M=1.5 Re=1.e6, and i do not want to capture the shock wave because of my MaccorMack code , which thickness is important? how to define this? can i set a friction coefficient and then solve three thickness?

For N-S equations, you need not give boundary thickness.
