Hello,
I tried to compile waves2Foam under OF-v1612+ today, as it was named as a supported version in the waves2Foam manual. Unfortunately I had to find out that there is no "solver" for this version in the solvers section for the various OF versions. Researching this issue I came across a post from ngj from last year (Release of a Wave Generation and Absorption Toolbox for OF) about some incompatibility issues. I wonder if these issues are resolved (as the manual dates from November 2017, and the post from January 2017) , and if there is a suitable "solvers1612_PLUS" directory available somehow/somewhere (probably not, as it is missing in the current svn repository... I just want to be sure). Thank you and best regards, Pascal. -- |

Hi Pascal,
The incompatible issue for wave gauges is solved, but I have not created solvers for 1612. There are solvers available for 1712, so better to use a more recent version. Kind regards Niels

Hi Niels,
thank you for your response. I will try to follow your recommendation. One minor problem (or actually a confusion) arises from the version numbering scheme. There seems to be no such version like 1712+, only 1712 (on openfoam.com). There was a 1606+ and a 1612+ version, but this "+" scheme seems to be discontinued since 17XX. Am I right? Then again, which OF version does the 1712+ solver in waves2Foam refer to? Could you please clear my confusion? Thank you very much! Pascal. -- |
