Hi, I am new at Linux/Ubuntu and just realised I couldn't copy the OpenFoam tutorials into my home directory because it has been installed under my user and not root.

Is there a way to change this to root? I have tried 'sudo' and 'chmod' commands to change permissions (I am not familiar with permissions so used the internet for these commands), but they gave similar errors to 'permission denied'.

Is there a way to chamge the OpenFoam dir to root? Do I have to re-install? If so, how do I make sure I install under root?

Thank you.
