from .dwg file to openfoam format

Hi,
I have a .dwg file from autocad. I can not export it to .stl format.. can anybody suggest another method on how may i run it in openfoam ? Cheers Zaynah |

You need to convert your file to a 3D geometry in order to be able to export it to an .stl. Depending on what software you have available, you could use Autodesk Inventor (easiest), Rhino (there is an evaluation version you can download for free, at least there used to be), or perhaps AutoCAD itself if your version has 3d modelling features (I've never used AutoCAD for that so hard for me to say if that's very feasible).
Optionally, you can always export your .dwg as an IGES file and use with any other CAD package to create a 3d model.
