BlockMesh Oportunities

Hello every one.
I have run into a huge meshing challenge with blockMesh. When defining a hex mesh it sets a region and they need to be well defined, meaning that the mesh needs to be continuous. Can I refine the mesh in a differnet way? Here is an example. I have two block genereted with hex. Let's blockOne and blockTwo. |BlockOne.........|BlockTwo........| And I want to get a smallar mesh just between them, not using snappyHexMesh (I do not see how it would be possible). Like this: ----------------------------------- |BlockOne.........|BlockTwo............| |.............|RegionC....|.................| ------------------------------------ In region see C (region c shares a part of blockOne and Two) I want to get a finner mesh. Like say 10^-5 and in blockOne and two let us say 10^-3. There can be a bridge between them. My desire is to create a fine mesh like 10^-6 in the place the velocity is big and in others not so fine. So what I want is make different layers which starts small and get bigger. The need is for more than 3 walls do this. I hope I made myself clear. Is it possible to make this kind of mesh? If not is there somekind of a replacement? Cheers, Raitis |

Create the rough mesh as you'd do now, and then check out the refineMesh utility.
Should be the easiest approach at hand. Otherwise you an still create multiple blocks with blockMesh and see that they match manually (difficult). Or (never tried that) add a searchableBox in snappyHexMesh instead of a .stl file and let snappy refine the region.
