Dear FOAMers,

i have a little problem with snappyhexmesh! for my case i have to mesh a reactor with an anchor stirrer inside and thats the problem! when i set my localInMesh inside the reactor, SHM cut my stirrer away and when i set the localInMesh an the stirrer, the tank is missing... (the case is in the attached zip-data)
is it confusing for SHM, that both geometries (stirrer&tank) aren't connected ?

i also tried some other things, like separate one Stl-data in two (tank.stl &stirrer.stl) , but this was more worse than the first case ...

hope somebody can help me!!

Hi Tingting;

I guess you already have your solution.

What you want is to model the flow within the reactor having the influence of the stirrer.

So, why do you want the stirrer to exist? It is only the tank domain and flow within you are analyzing right?

However the locationInMesh shall be a point within the tank is you wish to do that. If you have a locationInMesh on the stirrer it will retain the stirrer only.
