Dear all,
I have a nice polyedric mesh generated with starccm+ and I would need to convert it in OpenFOAM format. Normally, the utility to do it is ccmToFoam that works correctly with hexa and tetra meshes but leads to not acceptable results when dealing with polyedric cells as you can see from the attached screenshots.
Any idea about how to properly convert this mesh in OpenFOAM format?

Hi,

It is probably just a visualization issue. Just turn off the flag decompose polyhedra in ParaView and load the data again.

Cheers,
Tom

Do check also the mesh metrics by:

checkMesh -allGeometry -allTopology

or

mpirun -np X checkMesh -allGeometry -allTopology -parallel

+1: I agree that the above is very likely related to the visualisation.

Thanks for your replies, actually I did not notice the Decompose Polyhedra checkbox that is present when uploading a case. Un-ticking it the grid looks correctly converted.
