Hi all, I am trying to simulate wood combustion in a wood stove using openfoam and salome

i keep on ending up in error when i try to convert using ideasUNVToFoam

My doubts:
1. How to place a volume inside of a volume for openfoam Firefoam simulation
2. Can i use snapply hexmesh instead of salome for meshing ? if so is .stl files alone enough ?

3. I am confused about the geometry and mesh setup for openfoam firefoam, i tried, panel region method and just the surface method

Hello Ponnusamy, I'm not sure about the error you are facing, but that should be solvable.
And as you mentioned, firefoam is the base solver for solid combustion and pyrolysis.

Thank you

My doubt is, if you see from the image attached I have 2-volumes, A wood stove, and a wood log inside it. Do i have to cut out the volume where the wood is or can i have full stive volume and wood inside of it without removing the wood shape in stove geometry,

Also for snappyhexmesh will the mesh intersect eachother ? I have never used snappyhexmesh before for this type of conditions

I haven't used snappyhexamesh either.

Try simulating your model with one volume in the beginning stage. If possible go with 2D case and slowly give a progress
