I didn't find much on this forum about the collate option of OpenFOAM.
I have the impression it does not speed up the solver, rather the contrary.
Does it only exist to allow running on clusters which limit the allowed number of open files?


In that case, how to you visualize the results afterwards?
Is running foamFormatConvert the only option?
In my case it doesn't seem to create any "uncollated" processor*/* folders.
And even so, it would probably override the open file limit on the cluster and running locally is most likely unfeasible.
This leaves reconstructPar as the best option.


Anyone has a better approach to this? I mean reconstructPar means writing the data twice...
