Is there a BC that would act as a mirror between two patches - what goes in at one patch goes out at the other and vice versa?

I think you can also use "symmetryPlane" for your purpose

Perhaps you should have a look at the "mapped" boundary condition. I try to set up a case with such an BC but with no effort till now.
