Hello everyone,
I'm trying to use AdjointShapeOptimizationFoam to optimize a drag coefficient of an airfoil. I need to define boundary conditions wrt. cost function of drag coefficient. I have already seen in literature (Othmer) how to define the boundary conditions to minimize total pressure loss or power loss for ducted flows, but unfortunately I don't understand how should I change "adjointOutletPressure" and "adjointOutletVelocity" to minimize the drag coefficient of an airfoil? So far, I've set Ua and pa = 0 at the inlet and at the outlet, because only the airfoil contour is important for this problem, but I still don't get how should I adjust the adjoint boundariy conditions at the airfoil contour? I hope someone can help me at this Kind regards, Olivia |
