Hello all,
I have an initial simulation result of flow over a flat plate. The flat plate is of zero thickness at temperature Tw. Now I want the flow field results from above simulation to be used for flow over similar plate but with finite thickness. The temperature of the plate is now kept constant at the bottom part and would thus vary linearly along thickness. I would like to study its influence on flow. To do the same I would like to initialize the domain with the final results from the previous case with zero thickness wall. (I cant just copy paste the U T files as the meshes doesnt match) This is a toy problem and I want it extend it to 3D for my actual simulations where the initial field can save me a lot of time. Please suggest any way to approach it. Thanks in advance

The first way to achieve what you want is possibly to use "toolbox" swak4foam. Personally I don't know if it has such functionality, check it yourself.
The second way is to develope your own utility starting off with the openfoam built-in utility setFields. Currently setFields can map only a single value onto a set of cells or patch faces. The utility can be quite easily modified to allow you map a table (x,y,z,value) into a set. |
