Hello All,

Project: In the aluminum-casting process, hot (melted) aluminum is injected into a mold... a solidification process is carried out by cooling the surrounding solid mold. This process can be done with chtMultiregionFoam. Now after the aluminum is solidified the mold is removed and the solidified aluminum continues to cool down by natural convection.

Problem: how can I simulate this last step?, more specifically, after I simulate heat transfer between solid (mold) and fluid (aluminum), how can I deactivate the "solid regions" in the simulation to simulate only natural convection?, is this possible?.

the simulation will continue only with the previous fluid regions (solids will be deactivated) and new BC should be applied to the previous contact boundary (between fluid and solid).

Trying to do it in runtime by modifying the solver, but to start, any solution to achieve the same goal is welcome.

Thanks
