OpenFOAM 2112 pre-release dev info

Dear OpenFOAM users,

let us bring some advanced information to the developers before the actual release. Release activities for the OpenFOAM-v2112" release are nearing their end, but we would like to take this opportunity to mention some changes that could potentially affect existing codebases.

How would you recommend installing the repository for Ubuntu LTS 22.04? My old installation of 2106 seems to work fine, but do you anticipate releasing a repo for the new LTS Ubuntu version soon?

I imagine I can probably set the codeName in the installation script to FOCAL and it should work?

If you already have openfoam2106 installed via the repository you can simply install openfoam2112 from the same repository (ie, no installation conflict with multiple versions).
If you aren't yet using the repository, simply follow the quick-start info - it will setup the sources.d for you
