Dear all,
I am a new OpenFoam user, currently working in OF 2.3.0. I am trying to simulate a moving cylinder in a two phase domain (like in a tow tank). The lower half of the cylinder moves through a mud layer, the upper half of the cylinder is just moving through the air. Both are modelled as Newtonian fluids. I attached a sketch of the problem. The velocity of the cylinder is exponentially increasing from 0 to 0,1m/s. When I run my simulation (setFields-interFoam) my results seem very unstable. After about 6 seconds, the volumefraction alpha starts to behave strangly at the boundary of my cylinder (see attached picture). Similar results can be found in the pressure field p_rgh. I don't know how to upload a zip folder >78 kB, so I put my case files in a dropboxfolder, here you can find my boundary conditions, fvSchemes, fvSolutions,... https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bx3xdqwyt...G0Vq2G8Aa?dl=0 Can anyone help me solve this behaviour or help me to get my simulation more stable? You would really help me a lot! Thanks in advance! |
