Hello openFoamers,
I am trying to model a 60/40% methanol/water mixture, based upon the reactingFoam RAS tutorial called DLR_A_LTS using the EDC combustion model, only altering the inlet composition to the fuel mixture. The issue is with sustaining the flame after the initial combustion which occurs due to a setfield heat front upstream of the fuel inlet. I am uncertain how to sustain the combustion process as experimental work shows that continuous operation at these conditions should be achievable. I have attached the case and to run it just execute AllMesh and Allrun. Thanks for any help or suggestions to solve this issues. Best regards Lasse Brams Vinther |

Found the solution, the reduced methane gri mechanics doesn't describe the methanol combustion process, found a previous work determining the methanol combustion mechanics and it works now.

Hello Rafal,
Are you asking to the attached case in my first post or about the solved case (not attached)? Could you describe what you what me to describe as running the case is described in the first post. Regards Lasse |
