Dear all,

I am trying to simulate the flow over a porous zone using porousSimpleFoam. This zone is inside a standard simpleFoam external flow simulation around a body. The porous region is not isotropic, so flow should pass only in one direction.

First, I validated the Darcy Model and all was going well. I used a channel where all the flow passed through the porous zone.

However, when I introduce the new cell zone in the simulation with a body, the velocity inside the porous zone does not correspond to the velocity in the flow around it. It does correspond to the velocity of the initialized field.

My question is:

Am I missing some boundary condition between the freeflow and the porous Zone?

The simulation runs well and converges, and there is a pressure drop in the porous zone, however it looks like it does not take as a "inlet" the surrounding flow.

Thanks a lot for any help.

Best wishes,

Joćo
