Hey foamers,

I don't understand why there are different dynamicFvMesh types in icoFsiFoam and in icoDyMFoam (e.g. movingConeTopo tutorial)?

In icoFsiFoam I can choose from the following models for dynamicFvMesh
Code:
12
(
dynamicBodyFvMesh
dynamicBoxFvMesh
dynamicInkJetFvMesh
dynamicMotionSolverFvMesh
dynamicRefineFvMesh
dynamicTopoFvMesh
mixerGgiFvMesh
movingBoxFvMesh
solidBodyMotionFvMesh
staticFvMesh
subsetMotionSolverFvMesh
turboFvMesh
)
and in icoDymFoam I can choose from these
Code:
19
(
attachDetachFvMesh
dynamicBodyFvMesh
dynamicBoxFvMesh
dynamicInkJetFvMesh
dynamicMotionSolverFvMesh
dynamicRefineFvMesh
dynamicTopoFvMesh
linearValveFvMesh
linearValveLayersFvMesh
mixerFvMesh
mixerGgiFvMesh
movingBodyTopoFvMesh
movingBoxFvMesh
multiMixerFvMesh
multiTopoBodyFvMesh
solidBodyMotionFvMesh
staticFvMesh
subsetMotionSolverFvMesh
turboFvMesh
)
I'm working with the icoFsiFoam solver and want to make use of topological changes in my mesh with e.g. movingBodyTopoFvMesh or linearValveFvMesh.
So, how can I add these models to the icoFsiFoam solver?

Thanks in advance

hi, i'm having the same question. I would like to use movingBodyTopoFvMesh on pimpleDyMFoam. I had installed openfoam version4 extended which contains this fvMesh. But it doesnt exist in the valid option when i specified it in dynamicMeshDict.

had u solved your problem? May i get some advice on how you solve it? Thanks a lot

It seems the movingConeTopoFvMesh has been changed to movingBodyTopoFvMesh. Try looking into the source code. I think we can get the input from the member functions. You can share the input here and maybe i can help you out with the input.
