CHTMultiRegionFoam

Hey everyone,

i want to simulate a steady state turbulent flow with heat exchange. The documentation recommends chtMultiRegionSimpleFoam, but i get the error that this solver doesn't exist.

Are there any alternatives, or can i set the chtMultiRegionFoam in a steady state? If so, how do i do this?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello, Hr_kules, apparently it is possible to run it in simple mode. Removed rest of my comment as its not relevant in this case.

Hi Hr_kules,

The chtMultiRegionSimpleFoam solver has been removed of the OpenFOAM foundation branch (openfoam.org) in OpenFOAM-6 as chtMultiRegionFoam is able to run a steady state case.
Please have a look at the OpenFOAM-6 release notes: https://openfoam.org/release/6/ and especially to this commit.

There is still a chtMultiRegionSimpleFoam solver in the ESI-OpenCFD branch (openfoam.com)

Thank you both!

I have already tried to set the ddtSchemes for each mesh region to deafult steady state and the simulation and replaced SIMPLE with PIMPLE.

Now i can work on reasonable results.
