I am trying to simulate a simple piston in a cylinder motion. I intend to start with a simple case. What is a dynamic mesh technique to use for the piston wall to move upwards? how may the walls deform to become smaller as the piston wall moves upwards to prevent negative volume?

From 2006, thus very old.

More recent work by group Lucchini at polimi and authors that cite them surely exist.
