Hi foamers,
I'm new to foam-extend and trying to simulate axial fan with slightly compressible.(maximum M =0.4-0.5) When I simulate axial fan with steady-state compressible solver with MRF (steadyUniversalMRFFoam), pressure and moment aren't converges normally. I would like to simulate this case with unstructured mesh. Using foam-extend version: 4.1 Mesher: cfMesh solver: steadyUniversalMRFFoam(with rothalpy correction) Rotor-stator interface: mixingPlane Periodic interface: cyclicGgi My mesh is generated by cfMesh, excluding tetrahedral and wedges, attached checkMeshLog.txt has detailed information of mesh.(I apologize that I couldn't upload it as "code", because I don't know how to attach "code"..) It seems to converge normally in first 3500 iterations, but minimum pressure is suddenly decreased gradually.. Residuals seems to be decreasing well, but there monitored variables seems not. attached resi_and_monitoring.jpg has residual and monitored minimum pressure and z-moments. Attached pDrops.jpg is surface pressure of fan blade with region of pressure drop occurs. When I simulated similar problem with worse quality of mesh(includes some tetrahedrons and wedges), same situation occured, and I assumed it propagates wrong direction due to existence of tetrahedron&wedge, but after hexahedralization it isn't vanished, I lost my way to resolve it. Can anyone give me some hints to deal with this problem? |
