Hello. An aspect of my doctoral research comprise wall bounded natural convection turbulent flow; you might have to clarify what it is you actually need answered.

So what type of geometry are you planning to utilize? You ought to be more specific and detailed in order for anyone on here to assist and/or give you feedback.
My flows, natural- and mixed convection boundary layer flows are over a vertically oriented flat plate. Cheers, Deji |

Hi,
I could not help myself but having a look at the scenario. It sounds interesting. Water heated to 2000K under micro-gravity? Any application or just an exercise to do? There are a few tutorials that would be relevant. My personal choice would be the igloo case (I think it is called iglooWithFreezers from memory) with the buoyantBoussinesqSimpleFoam solver. The geometry is widely different (I would refer to one of the user guide tutorial for this aspect), but the general setup and boundary conditions should be close enough. Edit: I think that the igloo case is turbulent so you would have to switch the turbulence model off. But it should not be too hard (change the correct parameter is constant/RASTurbulence). Good luck. You can find the user guide for openFoam online at http://www.openfoam.org/docs/user/
I would recommend that you run Tutorials 2.1 Lid Driven Cavity to understand the meshing aspect and get you started. Then have a look at the tutorials hotRoom and iglooWithFridges in buoyantBoussinesqSimpleFoam. Good luck with it.
