Hi,

Could anyone help me? I set up an OpenFoam run in 2.1.1. The initial and boundary conditions resulted in a flow from the inlet (placed in the x=0 plane) in the +ve x-direction. There were some obstacles in the way of the flow.

I've now changed my domain slightly. The origin is in the middle of the domain, but only on the +ve z-domain. I want to reverse the flow direction for the initial and boundary conditions of the inlet. I originally had,

Uref 2.5;
Href 8;
z0 uniform 1.0;
turbulentKE uniform 0.42;
windDirection (1 0 0);
zDirection (0 0 1);
zGround uniform 0.0;

in ABLConditions and

internalField unifrom (2.5 0 0);

in the U file. I changed,

Href 112;
windDirection (-1 0 0);

in ABLConditions (my domain height also changed) and

internalField unifrom (-2.5 0 0);

in the U file. Examining the results in paraFoam, the glyths appear to show the flow going in the correct direction. However instead of being able to see the wavefront generated by the ABL conditions, coming in from the inlet as previously, I have something very different.

I appear to have wavefronts immediately present in the domain after a short time period, having originated at a point near the outlet and wall. Have I missed a setting I need to change?

Thanks in advance.
