Hi,experts:
Can OpenFOAM be used to model solidification and melting? Does anyone have experience in modeling laser welding or laser cladding or casting using OpenFOAM? Thanks! |

Hi,
Yes, it is possible to simulate solidification. you need to develop the code for it. Even i am new to Openfoam and working on solidification. am trying to develop solidification solver based on icoFoam and adding transport equations for temperature. As initial step i am solving only temp equation without any convection term and trying to validate the results with some available data. |

Do you have results of those simulations? Did it work?
