Replace the A_i with the mass-flux for the face...

Replace the A_i with the mass-flux for the face and A with the whole mass flux across the section.

If you just take a point, you can move it around...

If you just take a point, you can move it around until you get the same value as you find in the experiment ;-)

Usually I would use a mass-flow-averaged pressure across the surface.
