Hello.

I'm simulating flow around a 6 to 1 prolate spheroid at incidence.
I'm trying to trip the boundary layer at x/L=0.2, to compare to experimental results w/ tripping.

Has anyone done tripping in Star-CCM+?
Would you suggest adding protusions to the geometry,
or is there a way to change flow solvers from laminar to turbulent flow at x/L=0.2?

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,
Seyong.

You will want to use the turbulence suppression model. Check out the help documentation under User Guide > Modeling Physics > Modeling Transition > Turbulence Suppression Model.
