Hello All,

Analyzing co-rotating disc compressible turbulent flow.
Solution suddenly crashed, kindly see attached mesh and residual history.

Kindly suggest what could be the reason.

I don't really know what your geometry looks like, can you provide more images?

That mesh looks like it has some problems though. Only two cells in that gap and a lot of collapsed prisms on that small feature.

Yeah, your mesh doesn't look adequate for this. You should refine that gap, improve the prism mesh, and add more cells between the plates. The thin mesher would be a good choice here. Alternatively since you have an easy geometry you could do a directed mesh, which would be very efficient.

I am not taking solid part, that's basically the fluid part. So, directed mesh does not help me.

I'm not sure what the solid has anything to do with this? Whatever geometry you have there could easily be directed meshed very nicely.

Thank you very much for your responses. I am new to star-ccm.

As you can see the middle part is large in thickness, I have seen tutorial of a pipe three component but its same thickness.

https://steve.cd-adapco.com/articles...-boundary-mesh

How do I managed the middle one. If i am following steps its saying on second step, error is attached.
