Hi all,

I'm working on an airfoil which has a small step on the trailing edge and found the prism layers are very coarse. The step is very small, its height is roughly the same as the boundary layer thickness of the airfoil. The boundary condition of the step is velocity inlet (a small nozzle) and I always got a very bad mesh around that step.

Can anyone give me some advice about how to deal with such kind of geometry and how to generate a uniform mesh around the step?

I have posted a snip of the mesh.

Thank you very much!

Shaoze

Declare the step as a separate surface and put customized prism settings on it that are smaller.
