Saving Case file in StarCCM+

Hello everyone,
I am using Star-CCM+ . It is often required for me to change some parameters in GUI and then save the file. Very often, I overwrite the existing file. Recently, my mesh files have got bigger and the saving operation takes very long time (approx 30 min). Since, star-ccm writes everything in one file, I see that it also rewrites the mesh each time. Is there any way to just save the simulation tree instead and use this to run a simulation (similar to a case file in fluent) rather than rewriting the entire mesh again. Thank you Abhishek VERMA |

I have never seen it take longer than 2 min to save a file and I regularly work with mesh sizes approaching 30M. Are you sure its not a hardware issue?

Yeah.. There is a network issue as well! Basically everything is stored at a network drive. And the network is shared. So, it takes very long to save!
This is why, I am looking for a work-around. |

We have like this virtual desktop (citrix receiver) which we access remotely from local PC. The bandwidth for that desktop with network drive is more so saving 20 GB file takes around minute or two. Star-CCM is installed on that desktop too and it takes the same license from same license server as local PC.
